Nate's been working hard in our workshop, aka, our second bedroom. We found this dresser and night stand at a garage sale for $15. Nate went to Home Depot and spent about $45 on new handles, stain, sand paper and paint brushes. So for $60 total, we have beautiful new furniture for our bedroom. Here are the before and after pictures. I think he did a GREAT job and we saved a ton of money! Imagine how much we would had spent at RC Willey for this stuff.
Another one of our great finds was this vanity from the DI. We bought it for about $45 and we ended up using most of the leftover supplies from the dresser and night stand. Since Nate worked grave yard this week, he had tons of time to work on it. He sanded this puppy on all day on Tuesady from 11 am to about 6pm. All I can say is WOW! That's a long day. It looks so awesome. We have one more thing to do before it's finished. We need to find a mirror that fits the frame. If anyone knows where we might find a place to get specially sized mirrors for cheap, please let us know!

Great job! That's a LOT of work staining all of that wood. They look great.
I think you found yourself a good one! Nice work Nate
Nicole! That is GORGEOUS! I can't believe how beautiful that stain turned out. It must have been a ton of work, and his fingers must have cramped for days, but the payoff is so so worth it! I LOVE the shape and style of that vanity. How cool that you found three neat pieces that just needed a little TLC to become so gorgeous.
How awesome to be married to such a handy-man. They're gorgeous!
They look amazing!
Those look great! Nice job!
SERIOUSLY! Nate is just Mr. Fix-it! Lucky you. I think they look awesome!
They all look beautiful! This is the way to get great furniture at prices that won't kill you. I think you just need to get several glass places to give you bids and then bite the bullet and spend the money for the mirror. It will be worth the price after all the work Nate has put in. Mmmmmmmm. I have a front door that need sanding and painting. Just a little teeny hint!
wow! that looks awesome...it's very inspiring. I got a kitchen table at a garage sale on Friday that we are almost done refinishing. Seeing your finished project gives me hope :)
That is awesome...the furniture looks great! How cool that Nate is so handy!

Wow! That is awesome. Nate did a great job. Brent loves restoring furniture, so I am sure that is something we will be doing a lot of. Seeing this makes me very excited about it.
So impressive! Nicole you are one lucky lady!
Nate is one handy man, that is all I have to say. You guys should have a reality show where you find other people's junk and make it a treasure. I would watch that show.
awesome! nate seriously did a great job. unfortunately, that is not a talent we have at our household :-) can we hire him?
I love it. Great work! Great stain color.
